COVID-19 Vaccinations – AstraZeneca & Pfizer
Our practice is participating in the Covid-19 vaccination program and is approved by the Australian government to provide both AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines.
We are currently running AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccination clinics. Our Pfizer Covid-19 vaccination Clinics are due to start on the 20th September 2021. Please contact us on 3341 2022 or book online for a Covid-19 vaccination appointment. The supply of vaccines is limited, be sure to get in early.
The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) recommends the Pfizer vaccine as the preferred vaccine for people aged 12 to 59 years.
Pfizer is recommended if you are:
- pregnant
- 12 – 17 years of age.
AstraZeneca is not approved for people under 18 at this stage.
For those aged 60 years and above, the individual benefits of receiving a COVID-19 vaccine are greater than in younger people. The risks of severe outcomes with COVID-19 increase with age and are particularly high in older unvaccinated individuals. The benefit of vaccination in preventing COVID-19 with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca outweighs the risk of TTS in this age group and underpins its ongoing use in this age group.
