Caring for your mental health is just as important as caring for your physical health. The current coronavirus pandemic has affected many Australian’s mental health. Feelings of panic, stress, anxiety, anger, and low mood are natural during these unprecedented times. During this time, it is important to do things that help us cope and maintain good mental health.
Here are some ways to stay mentally healthy:
Stay Informed – It is important to gather your information from reliable and trustworthy resources so that you can make well-informed decisions about your health. See below link: https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert
Stay Healthy – Get plenty of sleep, eat nutritious meals, and keep active. Try to avoid smoking, and drinking. Take regular breaks and practice some relaxation techniques.
Stay Positive – Take time to remind yourself that this will pass. This is a temporary situation and we will return to feeling free and safe in the days ahead.
Seek Support – Our practice is committed to providing you the best care possible. If you feel your mental health is being affected, or you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to make an appointment with one of our friendly GP’s to discuss further.
